Amethyst is a quartz variety stained purple by irradiated iron in the ground around it. Because of this, Amethyst is like quartz in its ability to amplify energies, but also has the ability to ground us deep into the earth while connecting us to spirit.
 
Amethyst also helps us to access all parts of the self, and aligns us with our needs, desires, and goals. Once we can hold these ideals in our minds, Amethyst uplifts us as we reach for them.
